There is a load of nonsense on the internet about Basa. It is fine but often passed off as cod.

Rock and Chips for me.

Re: Fish and chips
I had the most over priced crap in FISH! Borough Market, maybe they had an off day.

Oldhams in Westcliff is OK for a traditional chippie.

Capri dish bar on Barking Rd is OK and Ercans aint bad to be fair although I prefer going on a non match day.

Best Chips are in Dagenham apparently- going on that their Fish shouldn't be too shabby - might give it a try if I can get a Police escort in and out of NAAM!!

Poppies, Spitalfields.

Excellent fish & chips, beer in a dimple jug, doorstep bread & fruit salad chews with the bill.

Yep, the Ark is quality.

And the Lighthouse is still decent for a normal chip shop.
(Tiddlywinks have had it for a few years and are organised).

Re: Fish and chips
There was a place on the Woolwich Road pretty much opposite the old Fire Station that did absolutely cracking massive PORTIONS.

It had a Galaxians game as well.

Feeling a bit nostalgic now since the Terry WOGAN thread.
